Norwegian Cruise Line - NCL Gem

MJM Marine completed a multi-million pound refit of public areas on-board the NCL Gem at the end of 2015. Work began with the ship docked in New Jersey and continued in transit to, and during dry-dock, at Freeport in the Bahamas.

A complete turnover time of just over three months from awarding of contract to handover continued the company’s history of completing complex, bespoke projects on or ahead of schedule. The actual fit-out took just 14 days, and is a testament to MJM’s rigorous planning and management control processes in place.

Several innovations involving machinery and processes saved time across numerous areas of the refit. MJM worked on over 9 different public areas on-board, with the scope of the project encompassing a full turnkey package in terms of design, manufacture and installation service.

The areas re-fitted were: Whiskey Bar, Magenta Restaurant, Le Bistro Restaurant, Martini & Champagne Bar, Orchid Asian Restaurant, Main Atrium, Garden Café Restaurant, La Cucina Restaurant & Al Fresco Restaurant.

Norwegian Cruise Lines has praised MJM for it’s professionalism and work ethic, especially in the areas of problem solving and waste management.
