Holland America - Eurodam
MJM Marine successfully completed the refurbishment of 112 suites on-board Holland America Line’s Eurodam Cruise Ship. This included 52 Signature Suites and 60 Neptune Suites.
The entire project was planned using lean principles, programming and reporting, optimising efficiency and speed of delivery, and reducing wastage, both in terms of man hours and materials. Several enhancements were made to the main suites and accompanying wet units, which both got complete overhauls, including; brand new wall coverings, lighting, headboards, carpets, stone counter tops, new vanity cabinets, sink and taps (his and her sinks in selected suites), paint-jobs, wall and floor tiling and back-lit mirror boxes.
Work was run 24 hours a day in shifts, with a specific programme focus on scheduling and co-ordinating the various trades and specialists on board.
The refit was completed in Freeport dry-dock in the Bahama’s within 12 days, with the Eurodam returning to service at Fort Lauderdale in December 2015. Off the back of the successful completion of this project, MJM also delivered the refurb of 160 cabins on-board the HAL Oosterdam in April 2016.
