Our Annual Charity Golf Day in Support of Marie Curie

MJM Marine swung into action on July 5th for their annual Charity Golf Day, an event held at Warrenpoint Golf Club dedicated to raising funds for Marie Curie.

With participants teeing off every 15 minutes, the day was a great way to connect with colleagues while enjoying a game of golf. We had a total of 30No 4-ball teams taking part, all for a worthy cause. The teams enjoyed the golf, a 2-course meal and then a raffle with a range of prizes, kindly donated by local businesses.

After the teams had completed the course Chris Rodgers, Finance Director, took the stage to share thanks and Elizabeth O'Connor Director of People and Governance, announced and presented the well-deserved prizes.

The day culminated in a heartfelt total: an impressive £14,000 raised for Marie Curie’s vital work providing care and support for people living with terminal illness. Marie Curie offers invaluable services including hospice care, nursing support, and emotional guidance, making every pound raised at events like this crucial to their mission.

Speaking about the success of the day was Marie Curie’s Anne Hannon, Partnership Manager “MJM staff, sponsors and guests did an amazing job raising £14,000 from the recent golf day in aid of Marie Curie. The Marie Curie team who took part thoroughly enjoyed the day.

This support from MJM means Marie Curie can continue to strive to ensure that everyone has access to the end of life care and support they need. Currently 1 in 4 people do not get that care and support. Thank you to everyone involved in making this event a huge success.”
