During National Apprenticeship Week 2024, MJM Marine spent the week participating in promoting apprenticeship opportunities through its Navigate Programme. Designed to empower and support young talent in their career journey, the Navigate Programme has emerged as a beacon of skill development and career advancement.

Throughout the week-long celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, our current cohert of the MJM Marine Navigate Programmers showcased its commitment to nurturing future leaders through a series of engaging activities. Among these initiatives and as part of the CITB NI's Build your Career campaign, local schools had the opportunity to try out construction activities and take part in a hands-on skills building event aimed at fostering creativity and innovation.

Moreover, our apprentices actively engaged with aspiring apprentices at career fairs held at schools and colleges across the province, such as Queen's University Belfast (QUB) and Southern Regional College (SRC), Newry. Interacting directly with students and sharing insights into the numerous career pathways available, helped reinforce MJM Marine’s dedication to providing invaluable learning experiences.

As the week came to an end, over 65 navigators from MJM Marine, Mivan and TopGlass, joined together at Mivan HQ to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of current navigators across the Rathbane Group. Navigators were treated to an inspiring presentation by Sean Connelly on resilience and learned about the latest project Mivan is involved in. The navigators then enjoyed lunch and engaging activities at Airtastic to cap off the week. This gathering not only honored participants' accomplishments but also fostered camaraderie and team spirit among them.

"National Apprenticeship Week provides a fantastic opportunity for us to spotlight the Navigate Programme and the transformative impact it has on the lives of young individuals," said Elizabeth O’Connor, HR & Legal Director at MJM Marine. "We are immensely proud of our involvement in initiatives like W5, the career fairs at QUB and SRC, and our collaborative efforts within the Rathbane Group. These activities not only raise awareness of the various positions within our business but also underscore our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth."

With a firm commitment to empowering the workforce of tomorrow, MJM Marine remains dedicated to providing exceptional opportunities for skill development and career advancement through its Navigate Programme.
