Specialist Joinery & Furniture Production

MJM Marine has been running our Apprenticeship in Specialist Joinery & Furniture Production for four years.  It is a very popular apprenticeship which takes 3 years to complete.

During the first two years our apprentices complete a Level 2 City & Guilds in Furniture Making.  In third year they progress to Level 3 City & Guilds in Furniture Making.

The apprenticeship is offered in conjunction with Southern Regional College. Apprentices work for four days in MJM Marine’s Production Facility and spend one day each week at college.

Our apprenticeship is open to anyone, male or female, aged between 16 and 25.

Requirements to join our Apprenticeship Programme are GCSE Maths and English at Grade D.

Our Specialist Joinery And Furniture Production Apprenticeship enable students to

  • Work effectively in a furniture / interior environment
  • Make and assemble wooden components of hand crafted furniture
  • Prepare resources for use in hand-crafted furniture
  • Assist with the operation of furniture production machinery
  • Set up and operate woodworking machinery

We celebrate National Apprenticeship Week each year with a Pizza Lunch for all our apprentices.

We organise a Family Fun Day each year and take all our employees to the Sheepbridge Entertainment Centre in July for an afternoon of bowling, laser and food.

We organise a number of events to raise money for our annual charity including a Spinathon in the Buttercrane Shopping Centre.
